1er cruMercurey red
Les Vasées
The fruitiest and most supple of the estate’s Premiers Crus. A distinctly Pinot nose, a savoury, round palate with fine texture. Sappy and complete, with generous black fruit.
Pinot noir
Cellaring5 to 8 years
The year enjoyed extraordinary weather throughout, and exceptional conditions at harvest, which is why we believe 2018 will be a very great year.
After a wet winter, a mild April let the vines get slightly ahead. Summer meant heat and unbroken drought. The vines held out and kept growing at a steady pace until mid-August.
Once again well ahead, the first grapes came in on 25 August and picking ended on 5 September. Everything was in place: healthy fruit and perfect weather. The whites are explosive on the nose.
They keep a certain freshness and minerality. The palate is round and generous, balanced by fine tension. The reds stand out for their intense colour; they are already structured and powerful, with well-coated tannins. A vintage of pure generosity.
