Mercurey red
Les Chazeaux « Cuvée Suzanne »
A generous, fruit-forward wine of real depth, with an intense colour. Hugely expressive, it bursts on the palate, a village Mercurey with nothing to envy of a Premier Cru.
Pinot noir
Cellaring2 to 5 years
The magic of years ending in nine. The vintage was hot and dry, yet the wines show a freshness that will delight lovers of Burgundy, alongside a generosity that wins you over.
Volumes were below an average year, but the small yields gave the wines remarkable concentration and finesse.
The winter was mild, with above-average temperatures, so the growing cycle started early, with budbreak slightly ahead in some sectors.
Summer was very hot, but a little August rain helped the vines along.
The harvest ran from 10 to 20 September.
In white, this forthright vintage is marked by great aromatic purity and remarkable balance: brightness carries a real richness on the palate. In a gentle ruby, the Pinots show genuine elegance, with supple tannins and welcome freshness. The generosity comes from fruit that is already well defined.
2019 is a vintage still unfolding, with a fine harmony to it.
