Mercurey red
Les Chazeaux « Cuvée Suzanne »
A generous, fruit-forward wine of real depth, with an intense colour. Hugely expressive, it bursts on the palate, a village Mercurey with nothing to envy of a Premier Cru.
Pinot noir
Cellaring2 to 5 years
After several harvests hit by the weather, 2017 shaped up well.
The vines made the most of a summer-like spring, taking a lead they held to harvest. They were in flower by mid-June, confirming an early year. Summer brought a few heatwaves and, two weeks ahead, the first grapes came in on 30 August. Picking ended on 12 September.
The whites are highly aromatic, their freshness showing in citrus and white fruit. On the palate, minerality and tension balance that rich fruit.
The reds are intense and bright in colour, ruby to garnet. Fresh red and black berry notes, set against silky tannins, make for a very harmonious whole.

1er cruMercurey red
The fruitiest and most supple of the estate’s Premiers Crus. A distinctly Pinot nose, a savoury, round palate with fine texture. Sappy and complete, with generous black fruit.
Pinot noir
Cellaring5 to 8 years
1er cruMercurey white
This cuvée gives a broader wine on the palate, opening quickly with floral notes. Supple yet fleshy, never heavy. Ample and rich, easy to drink, holding a fine balance between acidity and structure.
Chardonnay
Cellaring4 to 7 years
1er cruMercurey red
The southern exposure brings black fruit aromas to this Premier Cru, powerful yet round and fleshy. A sun-filled, generous wine, broad on the palate, with a fine texture that asks only to evolve slowly.
Pinot noir
Cellaring5 to 10 years

Mercurey white
This parcel yields a precise, straight, thoroughbred and mineral wine. The aromas favour finesse over exuberance, evolving over time towards dried fruit, citrus, white flowers and acacia. The palate is taut and linear, then lingers and opens with time.

The critics
Guide Bettane & Desseauve
« François Raquillet is never afraid to question himself. His passion for the craft drives him to take the estate to its very best. The range runs to 4 whites and 6 reds, and there is always one of the house’s wines among the leaders in our blind tastings. An address you cannot miss. »

« The 2017s are faultless, confirming the estate’s fine form. The wines are very well balanced, consistent and harmonious. They are at the gates of a second star. »
