After a cold start to the year, temperatures only returned to seasonal norms in April. May stayed cool, making 2013 the latest vintage of the last twenty years.
Fortunately summer delivered its heat, peaking in late July just as the bunches closed. That providential summer carried ripening at a steady pace into early September, despite rain at intervals through the season.
It was not until 28 September that the first secateurs were heard on the estate.
Fruit and balance mark the whites, their nose set on citrus. They are well structured and straight, with a gentle brightness and freshness.
The reds are deep in colour and finely bright. Very fruity, they speak of freshly picked red berries, with good structure from fine tannins and a length on the palate that sustains the pleasure.
