Revealing aromas of smoky berry fruit, grilled meats and a subtle framing of new wood, the 2017 Mercurey Vieilles Vignes is medium to full-bodied, fleshy, supple and open-knit, with melting tannins and ripe acids. It’s more giving and immediate than the more concentrated wines Raquillet produced in 2015 and 2016, which will lend it even greater near-term charm.

Aromas of dark berries, cherries and spice mingling with nuances of licorice and mocha introduce Raquillet’s 2017 Mercurey 1er Cru Les Veleys, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy wine with good concentration, fine structuring tannins and ripe acids that’s more elegant and longer on the finish than the Nagues this year. It’s an excellent wine that will also represent fine value.

Note : 90+/100

The 2017 Mercurey 1er Cru Les Vasées unfurls in the glass with aromas of smoky blackberries, cassis, grilled game bird and espresso roast. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, layered and nicely concentrated, its fine but chalky tannins largely cloaked in fleshy fruit.
